Market Street Store Open Day

About a month ago, we mentioned that our Market Street shop in York would be having an Open Day to allow customers to get to know the team at the shop a bit more, to take part in a few competitions, to sample a few goodies, see our new product ranges and meet Gingy the Gingerbread Man. The Open Day took place on the 30th May and we had a fantastic time.

Andy Bartlett and Steve Cockayne came down to York for the day, and they as well as the team at the Market Street shop met plenty of our customers and got to chat to them. As you can see above, Andy was handing out several samples including biscuits to those that came out for the day and balloons for our younger customers. He introduced a few of our most popular products, including the old favourites, as well as the latest range of ready meals, jams and preserves, puddings and frozen pastries for home baking.

Steve, our expert baker, was there to make sure that customers understood what was going on behind the scenes at the bakery, talking to them about his favourite baking techniques and the skills involved in making our products. He also introduced our popular new range of Artisan Breads that can be baked at home, now available in stores and online here.

On the day, we ran a couple of competitions to name the two Bakers and Harvest Mouse who are currently resident in the Market Street shop window, as you can see in the right hand side of the pictures above. The funds from the competition went towards the ‘Help For Heroes’ charity, and we managed to raise an astounding £91. The lucky winners of the naming contest were Kai from York, who won a £50 hamper for naming the two Bakers (Benny and Mario), and Mrs Bray from Dringhouses, who won a £25 hamper for naming the little mouse (Monti). Congratulations to them both, and thanks to all for helping to raise money for Help For Heroes!
